Cuc Gach Quan is my most frequented restaurant in Saigon. And no, I can’t pronounce the name. 😛
This is one of the safest choices to bring visitors for wholesome Vietnamese food – Even Brangelina visited this restaurant in their Saigon trip!
Cuc Gach Quan is so popular that reservations is a must. Having the experience of being turned away at the door – I make a point to reserve a table now.

The restaurant serves my kind of comfort food. It focuses on the original taste of the food and does not use MSG or other chemical preservatives. True to its motto to “eat green & live healthy – The dishes tasted homecooked, light yet flavourful.
The above four dishes are my must orders after countless times to Cuc Qach Quan. One of the most unique dishes is the zucchini flowers – best when sautéed with garlic or beef slices.
The dishes go very well with brown rice. You will feel that you ate well (yet satisfied) after the meal.
They serve a wide variety of fresh fruit juices here with honey on the side. Look at the bottle stopper (pandan leaf) and the straw (vegetable stem) – How innovative and environmental friendly!
Overall – Cuc Qach Quan is a perfect place for homestyle Vietnamese food. It stays permanently on my “to go” list whenever I visit Saigon.

My favorite at HCM and I have you to thank for bringing me there! Favorite dishes are the Zucchini Flowers with Garlic as well as the Spicy Garlic with Tamarind Sauce.
You are welcome! The food there is really simple and good – Can’t wait to revisit it in Dec. I think Karen & Tracy will love it too. 🙂
