Travel

Travelling has got to be one of the greatest joys in life.

It all began with the packaged tours with the family every year. Then, as a teen, opportunities opened up: school field trips, backpacking with our partner/friends while on Overseas Student Exchange and of course the all important graduation trip – which marked the end of our student life. Entering the corporate world, business trips and overseas offsites soon became a monthly and, at times, a weekly affair. And, amidst the hustle and bustle of working life – trying to fit in personal trips to pamper one’s senses. Eventually, taking a year off work became a very real option when corporate life takes a toll…

…all these, stems from our love for travelling.

Although food is our first love, we occasionally write about our travel tales too. We hope you enjoy reading these tales as much as we enjoyed living them.

[Melbourne] Circa The Prince – Modern Elegance

So, here I am – nicely settled in Melbourne. In case you are wondering…nope, I am not calling this home for good. I merely believe in “Carpe Diem” – because watching a tennis grand slam LIVE has always been one of those things on my bucket list…I decided to seize the opportunity since I amRead More

Long overdue, but finally a pictorial summary of my trip to Melbourne back in Nov 2012…. …every single one of these moments above played a part in THE DECISION I made. [Sydney] Rockpool Bar & Grill

[Sydney] Rockpool Bar & Grill

Being one of the top on my wishlist for a place to intern at (back then), I made a reservation at Rockpool Bar & Grill when my folks were here on a visit back in July. The interior of the restaurant itself is quite impressive – high ceiling, large dinning floor area, very decent-sized openRead More

Snippets of [Shanghai]

Snippets of [Shanghai]

佳家汤包 - 佳家 is a very popular choice for this local snack.  The shop was fully packed at 3pm and most of the XLBs were sold out already (including the salted egg & pork XLB that I wanted to try). We settled for the crab & pork XLB – They tasted awesome and pretty much on par with DTF. That’s a huge compliment coming from the #1Read More

[Sydney] Reuben Hills – Brb

At long last, I visited this not-so-new-anymore café in Surry Hills a couple of sundays back. Reuben Hills was opened earlier this year and has since received much attention for it’s self sourced and roasted coffee as well as finger-licking good food. Unpretentious shop front with bench – great way to bask in the sunlightRead More

[Sydney] Il Bolognese – The Reason behind my Midnight Cravings

This is one pizza I find myself craving for at the wake of dawn, sometimes in the middle of the night and especially at the end of a tiring day in the kitchen. I can eat this for breakfast, for lunch, for dinner….any day of the year, I swear. BELLA’S SPECIAL ($20-$30 depending on size)Read More

Mark & Spencer’s Croissant – Singapore vs. London

I like the buttery croissants I had in London’s M&S.  I love butter (sorry heart, I will try to eat such sinful food moderately) - I remember an incident when I put a large slab of butter on a small piece of bread and my colleague asked me whether I was eating bread with butter OR butterRead More

[Hunter Valley] Enzo – Gravitation

This is one establishment I find myself going to every time I drive down to Hunter V (Total Count YTD: 3). Located  in a tuscan inspired village (complete with sandstone buildings and all), this nice cafe restaurant is located in the heart of hunter valley wine region. Al Fresco dinning at the front of theRead More
