Pho is one of the healthiest and tastiest noodle dishes! However…  we feel that this noodle doesn’t get the credit that it should, on the other hand, no noodles want to be just a fad and die off… so our intention is to gradually make this underrated dish into a PHOnomenon in Singapore and it’s going to start with you!

What is Pho? Teacher (Read: Google) says Pho is a Vietnamese flat rice noodles in a clear chicken or beef broth with pieces of meat and sprinkled with coriander and other herbs. Our better, appealing definition is – a bowl of sweet, delicate noodles filled with awesomeness! All you need is one bowl to make you crave for more.

Alright, here’re the places you gotta go for the best Pho in Singapore!

1. Long Phung Vietnamese restaurant – It’s AUTHENTIC

This popular Vietnamese restaurant is located in Joo Chiat. Do we need to say more about the “look & feel” of the place? Take our advice not to go there on your first date. :)

What we had there was the simple soulful Pho - It’s authentically tasty and the ambience will make you feel like you’re eating the bowl of goodness in Vietnam!

2. Nam Nam noodles – It’s FUN

Nam Nam

Everyone who works in Nam Nam loves pho ok. :P

You might think that this Les Amis Vietnamese venture is too commercialized and might have lost its authenticity… But allow us to say that there’s nothing wrong with having a fun business model, if it’s successful, and gimmicky marketing, if it works and most importantly, when their product, which is their signature Pho noodles, is actually really awesome!

3. So Pho – It’s in the WEST & the NORTH

The very few places in the West (JEM) and North (NEX) that actually serves good Pho. We know how frustrating it is when you’re craving for a bowl of Pho and you want to wear your comfy slippers and be in front of soupy goodness in less than 30 minutes. But problem arises because you have to travel all the way to Central or the East! So you have an instant cup noods to try to satisfy your craving and it never works. Well, we have been there, done that and we’ll never have to do that again….because all we got to do now is go to So Pho!

3. Mrs Pho – It’s BIG

photo

Calling all starving Pho lovers. You will get your money’s worth at Mrs Pho and you’ll be happy to find two bowls all for you (We had the combination special soup)! One is the Pho bowl with all the fresh herby condiments and the clear light soup and the other bowl is an egg dropped soup – the yolk is softly floating in it. The pho was meatful and grandly satisfying with fragrant basil to top it off.

5. Pho 4 All – It’s HALAL
To make it into a PHOnomenon, it obviously has to be suitable 4 all!  We loved the pho there and absolutely adore it’s concept to make pho available for everyone. THUMBS UP.

Pho 4 all is the new kid on the block that no one knows yet so better go now before queues build up. :)
